| TV3 is the only privately owned terrestrial free-to-air national commercial television channel in the Republic of Ireland.
TV3 is owned by Doughty Hanson, a UK based private equity house, and management. It was acquired in August 2006.

| Formerly the IRTC (Independent Radio and Television Commission), the BCI is an independent statutory organisation responsible for a number of key areas of activity with regard to television and radio services in Ireland - in 2005 the BCI launched Sound & Vision, the Broadcasting Funding Scheme.

| Independent Dublin based resource centre for low budget and young film makers. Membership is currently at 800. Filmbase offers a short film award aimed at projects ready for production and includes an eventual screening on RTE.
