Irish Titles Confirmed for 2017 London Film Festival
04 Sep 2017 :
The Drummer and the Keeper
The festival runs from 4th - 15th October 2017.

Irish titles confirmed to screen include ‘The Drummer and the Keeper’, Nick Kelly’s debut feature which premiered at Galway earlier in the summer.  The film stars breakout performances from Dermot Murphy and Jacob McCarthy and it opens in Irish cinemas on September 8th. The film is being distributed by Element Distribution in Ireland.

Also screening is 'Song of Granite' Pat Collins feature film which brings the dramatic life story of legendary seannós singer Joe Heaney to the screen. Wildcard is distributing the film in Ireland.

Cartoon Saloon’s ‘The Breadwinner’ also screens in London, following it’s premiere at TIFF later this month.   Element is distributing the Nora Twomey directed film in Ireland for Studio Canal. The film has a confirmed release of May 2018 for Ireland, and a November release in US.

‘The Killing of a Sacred Deer’ is confirmed for London, Yorgos Lanthimos and Element Pictures’ followup to ‘The Lobster’. The film stars Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman and Barry Keoghan.  Element Distribution is the Irish distributor.

Martin McDonagh's 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” will be the closing-night film of the Festival. The film stars Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell, who are expected to attend the premiere with McDonagh. “I’m excited to bring this film back to my hometown for its U.K. premiere,” McDonagh said in a statement. “I’m more than proud of it, and if there are any fans of ‘In Bruges’ still out there, I don’t think they’ll be disappointed.”

Also screening at London is ‘Loving Vincent’, which co-stars Saoirse Ronan, Chris O’Dowd and Aidan Turner.
