IFTA members and their guests enjoyed the sunshine and atmosphere at Kobra Bar on Leeson Street for the annual Irish Film and Television Academy Summer Barbecue. The informal networking event helped introduce new members to the Academy and highlight the exciting lineup of events and screenings on the IFTA calendar.

Ian Rankin in Conversation with Colin Bateman was the the Closing Night event of the Dublin Writers Festival in the Gate Theatre last Sunday June 15th. The scenario: Take one best-selling crime writer – Ian Rankin. Ask another major player in the genre – novelist and screenwriter Colin Bateman – to take the reins. Add some enlightened conversation, intriguing lines of enquiry and a few trade secrets. The verdict? A one-off contemporary crime classic. Dublin Writers Festival, an initiative of Dublin City Council supported by The Arts Council.
