 IRISH ASSOCIATIONS
IBEC/Audio Visual Federation
The Audiovisual Federation is the representative body for the audiovisual industry in Ireland and membership categories include broadcasters, animation studios, independent producers, facilities, marketing distribution companies, corporate video producers, legal/ financial companies, as well as other affiliated organisations from the sector.
FÁS Screen Training Ireland
Screen Training Ireland is based in the Industry division of FAS and the committee advises and assists the Board of FAS in developing and implementing a national training strategy for the audio-visual industry based on the recommendations in the STATCOM Report: Independant Film and Television Production - Training Needs. The committee guides the work of a dedicated executive team with profesional training expertise.
Filmbase
Dublin based resource centre for low budget and young film makers. Publisher of Film Ireland. Membership is currently at 800. Runs incentive with RTE, and co-ordinates from training courses with STI.
Galway Film Centre
Galway based film resource centre for local film makers. Runs incentive with RTE, and and co-ordinates from training courses with STI. Publishes quarterly Film West.
Cork Film Centre
Cork-based film resource centre for local film makers. Runs short film incentive with RTE.
Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA)
The Irish Film & Television Academy is the all-Ireland organisation whose mission is the stimulation of original and creative production work, and the encouragement of excellence through recognition, education and leadership in film and television.
Access Cinema
Formerly Federation of Irish Film Societies, with Society member groups around the country.
Irish Film Institute (IFI)
Responsible for the promotion of the art of film in Ireland. Also runs the Irish Film Archive.
Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI)
Formerly the IRTC (Irish Radio and Television Commission), the BCI is responsible for all broadcast licences in Ireland.
Irish Film Censor's Office (IFCO)
The Censor's office is responsible for classifying all certified films on theatrical release in the Republic.
Irish Music Rights Organisation
IMRO is responsible for collection of monies relating to copyrighted material.
Mechanical Copyright Protection Society
Responsible for the protection of copyrighted material and copyright owners in Ireland.
