‘Handsome Devil’ and ‘The Siege of Jadotville’ actor Fionn O’Shea cast ‘The Aftermath’
15 Mar 2017 : Katie McNeice
Irish talent Fionn O’Shea will star alongside Keira Knightly (The Imitation Game), Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood) and Alexander Scheer (Le jeune Karl Marx) in the post-WWII drama.

James Kent (The Testament of Youth) is set to direct the series, which is based on the Rhidian Brook novel of the same name, and adapted for the screen by Joe Shrapnel (race) and Anna Waterhouse (Frankie & Alice). Ridley Scott, Jack Arbuthnott and Malte Grunert are set to produce the project.

O’Shea’s role as Ned in John Butler’s ‘Handsome Devil’ succeeded his portrayal of real-life soldier William Reidy in Richie Smyth’s IFTA-nominated ‘The Siege of Jadotville’ last year.

Butler’s project premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, with Breaking Glass Pictures recently securing the North American rights to the title, and Icon releasing to Irish audiences in April.

‘The Siege of Jadotville’ which is produced by Alan Moloney of Parallel Film Productions released to Netflix in 2016, with families and friends of the surviving Irish troops applauding its paramount role in calling attention to their bravery in the Congo.

O’Shea also stars as Jack in Richard Clark’s ‘Innocent’, which is currently in production.
