The feature film adaptation of Irish author John Boyne’s international bestselling novel, ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’, received its World Premiere screening in Dublin’s Savoy on Thursday 4 September. International guests attending the Gala event, held in association with Amnesty International, included stars David Thewlis (The Omen, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix), Rupert Friend (Pride & Prejudice), director Mark Herman (Little Voice), Oscar winning songwriter Glen Hansard (Once) and author John Boyne.

The Irish Film and Television Academy (IFTA) held an intimate evening ‘In Conversation’ with veteran Irish actor David Kelly at Dublin’s Irish Film Institute on Sunday, 17 August, 2008.
Academy members and attending special guests shared a rare opportunity to be part of an informative conversation with one of Ireland’s most popular and respected actors of the stage and screen.
With a career that spans over six decades, David Kelly’s feature film credits include Stardust, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Waking Ned, Into the West, Mystics, Greenfingers and Puckoon; while his television appearances include unforgettable roles in Strumpet City, Fawlty Towers, Robin’s Nest and Glenroe. David’s latest work has been on Spanish thriller The Kovak Box alongside Oscar winning actor Timothy Hutton.
